Sundance Films of Parker Posey's Past
Every day of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival I spotlighted a film of Parker’s Sundance past on twitter by adding new credit pages to the site, or updating existing ones with new or larger pictures, info, quotes and video. With the festival now coming to a close, I thought it would be good to gather all those links as a sort of retrospect of Parker’s Sundance past:

New Interview for The Daily Beast
“I was looking forward to playing a strong woman and a powerful person because it had been a long time since I had,” Posey says. “And I wasn’t feeling particularly strong during that time because it was tough times. I wasn’t getting a lot of work since the independent scripts that used to come to me were going to bigger celebrities. So in my off time, I watched,...

Upcoming Parker Posey Projects
Parker revealed in the “TimesTalk” chat that she will be filming an episode of the FX Louis C.K. show “Louie” next month, as well as returning to the stage this spring. While she doesn’t specifically mention what production, she does say it’s a Will Eno play at the Yale Repertory Theatre, which leads me to believe it is The Realistic Joneses, which she’s...

Tonight, Joseph Gordon-Levitt brought his hitRECord production to the Eccles Center at the Sundance Film Festival, where he was eventually joined by Parker Posey for a discussion about what is “independence” in terms of movies and being an individual. "Parker Posey Offers a Tough Loving Assessment of...
Movies are supposed to be an exercise of compassion, intelligence, and humanity. And if those movies aren’t made, then our culture will suffer. If it’s all about money, and the art isn’t going to be supported, then places like Sundance will cease to be a platform for them. It’s such a different time right now. We’ve yet to see what that looks like for cinema. -...

Yahoo! has posted a new interview with Parker. Much like the Vulture interview from this week, Parker discusses how Sundance and filming independent movies have changed over the years, as well as what interested her in her new movie, Price Check:

DJ Roctakon's "Party Girl"-Inspired Parker Posey...
NYC club DJ Roctakon made a Party Girl-inspired mixtape a couple months ago for Parker’s birthday.
When I was a kid, Party Girl was one of my favorite movies. If you were 16 in 1995, an aspiring DJ, and not-so-closet total dork, Mary would have been everything to you too. I picked songs I know she would have danced to, songs that I really did dance to, and songs that for me define...

Parker Posey on the Glory Days of Sundance and the...
Vulture has a great interview with Parker recollecting memories of past Sundance Film Festivals:
What do you remember about that first time you went to Sundance? It was 1995, I think, for Party Girl. It felt great, it felt like there was a movement happening and that movies were cool. People were more accessible, and it was more intimate. It seemed to all happen on Main Street, and...
SOPA and PIPA
While I keep this site free of politics, PARKERPOSEY.org was blacked out on January 18th in protest of the “Stop Online Privacy Act” (SOPA) and “Protect Intellectual Property Act” (PIPA). I believe that while piracy is an issue, SOPA and PIPA are harmful to free speech and gives too much power and authority over the internet to the government and companies. The video below...
